And for the most part now-a-days, NOT having a tattoo or piercing is less common than having them. A tip of the hat to the past doesn't mean you have to do everything like they did. The fashion of the 40s & 50s collided with modern day punk and created a wonderful balance of elegant yet edgy glamour.
